All services must be paid for at time of booking. We take eftpos and credit cards (Visa and Mastercard) over the ‘phone. We can take Amex with a 2% additional fee. We also accept bank transfers.
Because of the number of people who book and don’t show up, or who change their plans at the last minute, we now only take bookings with advance payment.
We give refunds (less 20% admin fee) if bookings are cancelled more than 48 hours in advance. For example, if your booking is for 3pm on Tuesday, you need to cancel before 3pm on the Sunday prior to receive an 80% refund. We will happily reschedule bookings with no fee, provided you request the reschedule at least 48 hours before your lesson.
If bookings are cancelled or rescheduled less than 48 hours in advance, there is no refund. Deposits (for camp, clinics, parties and special events) are not refundable, regardless of the notice period.
Requests to cancel or reschedule are best done via email. If you do telephone, please make sure that you leave a detailed message. We will always acknowledge your email or telephone message.
We understand that it can be quite annoying to lose your money if your child wakes up sick on the morning of their lesson. If your child does wake up sick, you can send a sibling or friend for the lesson or you can come yourself! When the person coming isn’t the same size or level as the original booking, we will teach on a different horse or if that’s not possible, we will teach on the electronic horse. We can also give horse management lessons instead of riding lessons. We still need notice for these substitutions, so please let us know as early as possible if your child can’t ride and you’d like to send a substitute.
Adults often take a risk that while they might feel unwell today, they’ll be better in time for their lesson. This suits some personalities who are resigned to the risk of losing their money if they’re not better in time. For others, it may be better to cancel your lesson 48 hours ahead and then re-book when you’re feeling well again.
When bookings are made, we often have to employ extra staff, so we incur additional costs. When late cancellations and reschedules occur, we still have to meet those additional costs. We may also have turned other potential clients away, because of existing bookings, so we are also missing out on other potential income.
In bad weather, lessons go ahead (unless we think it is dangerous). If we think riding isn’t advisable, we can give you a horse management or electronic horse session instead, or you can reschedule without penalty. If rescheduling is not possible, we give 100% refunds in the case of bad weather.
