An hour of fun including meeting the horses, brushing them, feeding, mucking out, going for walks, sweeping (a great favourite!), colouring in and a short ride. Maximum three children per session. Must be 3 or 4 years old. A lovely way for your child to get to know horses. $450 per term.
Pony Prep runs for 9 weeks each school term, for 90 minutes per session. You can join mid-term for a reduced price. You can also come for a one-week trial ($100) to see if you like it.
Pony Prep is a great way to introduce children to horses and horse-riding. We spend time with Belle the mechanical horse, Bonnie the electronic horse, we learn to groom a horse, work around the Stables and each child has a private 15 minute riding on a real horse . We take a maximum of three children per session, so there’s lots of individual attention as well as good, social fun with other children. . Suitable for 5 years and over. $700 per nine week term. We offer Pony Prep after school and on weekends and can organise specific times to suit you provided we have at least two children participating for a term.
Pony Prep Plus
Ninety minutes each week for children who can independently walk and trot. Children learn to take care of their horses and have a sixty minute group riding lesson. Maximum three children per group. Children tend to be 8 years and over and are accepted by assessment. Pony Prep Plus is currently available on Fridays from 4.30pm to 6pm and on Saturdays from 3.30pm to 5pm. We can organise other times provided we have at least two children participating for a term. $700 per nine-week term.
Children’s Riding Group
This is a one hour group riding lesson for children who can already walk and trot independently. The Group has a maximum of three children and currently runs on Wednesday evenings from 6pm to 7pm. Entry to the group is by assessment. $800 per nine-week term.
Young Riders’ Program
Two and a half hours each week, preferably for children who can already walk and rise trot. Young Riders’ runs 2pm to 4.30pm on Saturday or Sunday afternoons and on Sunday mornings from 8am to 10.30am. Children spend one hour in a group riding lesson. They learn to handle, groom, tack up their horses and take care of them after riding. They also learn some of the jobs in a stable, including feeding, mucking out, cleaning tack, walking horses, doing hays and watering. Classes tend to be full and we have a waiting list in case of vacancies. $900 per nine-week term.
